I’m a qualified hairdresser from outside of Australia, so I don’t have a Certificate III in Hairdressing. Am I still eligible?

A coordinator from TAFE NSW will contact you to discuss your unique qualifications and experience for recognition of prior learning to determine whether you are eligible for the program.

Is there a recognition of prior learning (RPL) process involved in the eligibility process?

Yes, there is. A TAFE NSW coordinator will contact all students to discuss their individual qualifications and experience to ensure they are eligible.

I haven’t been working as a hairdresser for more than five years. Am I still eligible?

Unfortunately, no. However, if you can work back in the industry from now, you may be eligible for a future intake if the program is repeated.

What if I can’t attend all the classes? Can I still take part?

Speak to your Project Barber TAFE NSW Coordinator to discuss your options.

Is Project Barber available in other States or regions outside of NSW?

Not at this stage, however watch this space - we hope for a successful program that will take place around Australia.
